FAQ

  • Pets are not allowed in the hotel. Pets are allowed only in our hotel suite with kitchen, apartment the Watchman and the Duinpannetje.

    You can inform the reception desk that you will be bringing your dog. We charge a surcharge of €17.50 per dog per night for this.

    No pets are allowed in the other rooms.

    Rules dogs on beach summer/winter:

    Summer: stray dogs are allowed everywhere before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m. Different rules apply between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. for each beach. Read the document below for all the rules.

  • The hotel is 300 meters from the beach, a few minutes' walk.

  • If you book directly with the hotel you have better cancellation policies, more choice of room types and we always try to be 5% cheaper than Booking.com. In addition, you can arrange special requests or questions directly through our front desk instead of Booking.com customer service.

  • We have power outlets in our bike shed to charge your electric bike. It is not allowed to charge batteries in your room due to fire safety reasons.

  • We have a covered bike shed where you can park your bike. This is locked at night.

  • We have some electric and regular bikes for rent at the hotel. You can rent these bikes through our reception. Otherwise you can go to Masteling in Groet (2km from the hotel).

  • For the non-refundable rate and the flexible rate, you must pay the full amount when making the reservation. This includes tourist tax and breakfast.

    Should payment fail during online reservation, we can send you a separate payment request.

  • Cancellations must always be communicated to our reception desk by email. As long as you have not received confirmation of your cancellation, the cancellation has not been completed.

  • We cannot cancel reservations made through Booking.com for you. You will have to do this through your account or Booking.com customer service. Please allow for a 7-day cancellation period through Booking.com.

  • With the non-refundable rate, this is no longer possible. For the flexible rate, this is possible up to 3 days in advance if you book directly with the hotel. If you have booked via Booking.com, you can cancel free of charge up to 7 days in advance.

  • Only if you want to make the deposit by credit card. If you do it via IDEAL or bank transfer, this is not necessary - even though you will be notified about this.

  • You can pay by IDEAL, by credit card or by bank transfer. If you want to pay by bank transfer we can send you the bank details.

  • Yes we accept cash payment.

  • Check-in is from 3 p.m. If you would like to use the room earlier, you can reserve an early check-in. For €20, you can use the room from 1 p.m. (not possible for apartment De Waker).

  • The address is Heereweg 395, 1871 GL Schoorl. The hotel is easily accessible by car or public transportation. Check the Contact page for more information.

  • Parking during your stay is available at Strandhotel Camperduin on Heereweg 395 or at the Strandstudio's Camperduin on Heereweg 403 (1871 GL, Schoorl)

  • You can drop off your luggage at our reception in advance. Please contact our reception to discuss this.

  • Check-out is until 12:00 noon. If you would like to use the room until later, you can reserve a late check-out. For €20, you can use the room until 2:00 p.m. (not possible for apartment De Waker).

  • You can leave your luggage at our reception. You can discuss this in advance or at departure at our reception.

  • In front of the hotel:

    With the flexible rate you can cancel for free up to 3 days in advance if you book through our reception or website. If you book through Booking.com you can cancel free of charge up to 7 days in advance.

    For the studios:

    You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days in advance.

  • The non-refundable rate is 10% cheaper than the flexible rate, but free cancellation is no longer available. This rate is available up to 10 days before arrival.

  • Tourist tax in the municipality of Bergen is €2.60 per night per person (aged 5 and above).

    Reservations made through Booking.com must pay the tourist tax at the hotel.

  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere in our hotel. If we find that there has been smoking in the room we will charge a cleaning fee.

  • Our polder studio is handicap accessible, so is our breakfast restaurant and so is our Struin restaurant.

  • Parties & celebrations are not allowed in the hotel.

  • You can enjoy breakfast between 08.00 and 11.00 in our hotel restaurant. Upon arrival (or in advance) you can reserve a table. Look here for more information about our breakfast.

  • At the hotel we have a small drinks menu. Dinner & lunch are available from the end of March to the end of October in our restaurant Struin. In the winter months you can dine at the Strandhotel from Monday to Thursday. Look here for more information.

  • Our polder suites and family studio have a kitchenette with 2-burner stove, microwave and small refrigerator. The hotel suite with kitchen has a full kitchen.

  • No, our double ++, junior dune suite, polder studio, polder suites and family studio have a small refrigerator. The family apartment and hotel studio with kitchen have a large refrigerator. The other rooms do not have a refrigerator.

  • Our sauna is unfortunately out of service due to water flooding, this problem is taking longer than expected.

    We hope to be able to reopen the sauna in the fall of 2026.

  • Only our 6-person apartment the Watcher has a sea view. The other rooms do not.

  • During your stay, you can use our free wifi. In addition, you can stream to your in-room television via your phone, laptop or tablet.

  • Your studio has a fully equipped kitchen.
